As we approach the end of 2025, take a look at this one-page brief packed with tips and strategies to help you save on taxes as you make your year-end gifts.

2025 Giving and Grant Recommendation Deadlines

The following schedule outlines this year’s deadlines for charitable giving to ensure that your end-of-year gift is applied to the 2025 tax year and that your grants are received by December 31, 2025.

Grant recommendations should be made by Monday, December 1, 2025, to ensure checks are received by the nonprofit by the end of the year. Please email your recommendations to your HCF contact or use DonorSphere.
Gifts of appreciated stock: Make your stock gift by Friday, December 12, 2025. (While stock transfers completed by Wednesday, December 31, 2025, will qualify, submitting earlier will help avoid potential delays.)
Checks sent via the U.S. Postal Service to HCF must be postmarked on or before Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
Checks sent via carriers such as FedEx, UPS and DHL must be physically received at any HCF office on or before Friday, December 26, 2025.
Wire transfers of cash must be initiated no later than Friday, December 19, 2025.
Credit card gifts can be made online on or before Wednesday, December 31, 2025, here.

If a deadline is missed, we will make every effort to meet the 2025 requirements; however, we cannot guarantee that your gift will apply to the 2025 tax year or that your grant will be received by the nonprofit by December 31, 2025.

HCF will be closed on the following days:

Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at noon through Thursday, December 25, 2025.
Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at noon through Thursday, January 1, 2026.
