Collective impact through the C H A N G E Framework
HCF represents the vision and desire of a community where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. We are tackling some of our state’s most challenging issues and finding solutions that can only happen by working together. The CHANGE Framework helps us do that.

In 2020, $124,317,741 in grants were awarded from HCF.
Here’s how those funds are making positive change in our community.
Inside the Annual Report
As part of our COVID-19 response, we implemented our four-phase approach to community resilience through the CHANGE Framework; the approach was created in 2018 and based on previous disaster responses, to address the immediate, complex demands taking shape across communities in Hawai‘i. We deployed $77,522,622 in 2020 to nonprofits across the state who were on the frontlines of meeting critical community needs. With the trust of our donors and the community knowledge of our grantees, we supported programs in every community on every island.
