Stronger Together Hawai‘i Scholarship Fund

The Stronger Together Hawai‘i Scholarship Fund aims to improve Hawai‘i students’ rate of postsecondary persistence and completion.

The fund steps out of the box of traditional scholarships and focuses on providing financial and non-financial support through a combination of grants and unrestricted scholarships.

First Hawaiian Bank and Hawai‘i Community Foundation, which seeded this fund with $2 million, believe that this powerful combination of funding reduces barriers that traditional scholarships often present to students, especially those from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds, while the grants afford students continued access to support services that can help address the various non-financial issues that may cause students to disenroll.
