About Us

Hawai‘i Community Foundation - A Closer Look

The Hawai‘i Community Foundation is a public, statewide, charitable services and grantmaking organization supported by donor contributions for the benefit of Hawai‘i's people.

What We Do

As a public foundation we have a responsibility to serve the broader interests of our community, not just our own. We are committed to building the charitable assets of Hawai‘i, regardless of whether those assets reside with us or not.

Here's how we can help:

Helping people articulate their dream of making a difference and finding the best vehicle to achieve that by designing and implementing their charitable giving plan
Facilitating and supporting the great works of the nonprofit sector through strategic grantmaking and other nonprofit assistance
Serving as a resource on community issues and trends
Contributing to the entire community through grantmaking, promoting the nonprofit sector and acting as a civic leader - both on a local and statewide levels
Acting as stewards for the community by managing donor funds
Bringing diverse groups of people together for the common good
Providing management services for Private Foundations
Mobilizing statewide relief funds in the event of natural and human disaster, such as the Hurricane Iniki Fund, September 11th Fund and Hawai‘i Island Earthquake Recovery Fund.
