Publicity Tips For Your HCF Grant

Hawai‘i Community Foundation encourages grantees to publicize all grants they receive.  This helps to spread the word about the positive impact that these funded programs have in the community.  The following is provided to assist your organization when publicizing your Hawai‘i Community Foundation grant in your publications and media relations efforts.

Publications

We ask that you mention Hawai‘i Community Foundation's support of your program(s) in your organization's publications, including annual reports, newsletters, program activity announcements, brochures and flyers. If use of the Hawai‘i Community Foundation logo is required, please contact the Hawai‘i Community Foundation's Communications department at 808-566-5527 for assistance. Please send a copy of these materials to Hawai‘i Community Foundation, Attn: Communications Department.

When publicly referencing HCF's support, please identify the specific fund(s) named in your grant letter along with "Hawai‘i Community Foundation."  The following example is recommended when publicizing your grant:

"A grant was received from the Robert E. Black Fund of the Hawai‘i Community Foundation."

Media Relations / News Release

Publicizing your grant(s) via a news release is highly encouraged.  If you receive news coverage of a program or event supported by Hawai‘i Community Foundation, please send us a copy.  Do not hesitate to contact the Hawai‘i Community Foundation Communications Dept at 808-566-5527 with additional questions or for assistance.

The following news release template is provided for your reference. We request that you end your news release with Hawai‘i Community Foundation's "boilerplate," or paragraph describing the Foundation following your own organization’s information.

We urge you to use the following "boilerplate" in full when referencing the Foundation:
