  • more than 2,300 students received scholarships from Hawai‘i Community Foundation
  • scholarship amount totaled $4.7 million
  • Hawai‘i Community Foundation is the second largest post-secondary scholarship provider in Hawai‘i

Scholarship Application Deadlines

Hawai‘i Community Foundation’s Scholarship Program

HCF's Scholarship Program is made up of over 150 different scholarship funds established by generous individuals, families, businesses or organizations to assist Hawai'i residents in obtaining a college education. Some of the funds are part of HCF and some represent private foundations that have asked the Foundation to administer their scholarships. Students apply to the program and, if eligible, can be awarded from one or more of these different funds.

 

Online application will close at 5:00 pm  (HST) on Monday, March 1, 2010. Send all supporting materials plus any additional materials required for specific scholarships to:

HCF's Vocational Education Scholarship Program

Vocational Education describes certification or degree programs designed to teach students skills for a specific segment of employment. Programs include (but are not limited to) culinary arts, auto repair, diesel mechanics, cosmetology, computer graphics and assistive medical technology. Apply by July 1, 2010 for Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 semester scholarships.

The Victoria S. and Bradley L. Geist Foundation Scholarship Program

The Geist Foundation has been awarding students currently or formerly in the foster care system.  As a result of financial assistance from the Geist Foundation, hundreds of students are able to attend vocational schools, community colleges, and public and private universities both here in Hawai'i and on the continental United States. Verification of foster care status within the State of Hawai'i is required. The application deadline for the Geist Foundation Scholarship Program is June 1, 2010 for Fall and Spring semester scholarships, October 1, 2010 for Spring semester scholarships.
