Making a Difference

A volunteer holds the ladder for his neighbor who pounds the last of several street signs in place. For years, residents of Orchidland Estates have voluntarily pulled together on a regular basis.

Hawai‘i Island Office

The Hawai‘i Island office, located in Kamuela, provides hands-on service to individuals who want to give back to the community, local groups and organizations.

This office has direct responsibility for various funds available to Big Island organizations, such as West Hawai‘i Fund, Hawai‘i Island Fund, Richard Smart Fund (Kamuela), and Kuki‘o Fund.

Our staff is experienced and a well-connected resource on the island. We can work with individuals and organizations that are interested in exploring ways they can give. For ideas about how you can make a difference, see a list of the funds that have been established by donors to benefit Hawai‘i Island.

This collaboration includes working with our Leadership Council which helps our staff on Hawai‘i Island to further the Foundation’s mission. These community-minded volunteers open doors to form new partnerships and provide advice on issues relevant to Hawai‘i Island.
