Since Kelvin’s out on a business trip this week, I thought I’d hijack his blog to re-share (in case you might have missed it!) some news about the board leadership conference at the Hawaii Convention Center next month. It might be my personal bias, but I think we’ve managed to secure a stellar lineup of presenters and topics, from the really serious (IRS perspective of governance and board accountability and the luncheon keynote with Sen. Dan Inouye on the federal government and nonprofits) to the serious (fundraising in a down economy, our 2009 giving study results and how that data can help your nonprofit, to the elements of collaboration especially in a down economy when resources are tight and demand is high) to the generationally challenged (social media – what is it and how can it benefit your organization?).
For the many of us who volunteer on nonprofit boards, these are timely and relevant topics with national and local presenters in a single, convenient location. Never has there been a better time than now which demands that nonprofit board members be especially aware of evolving trends and policy changes that impact our nonprofits. If you want to learn more about the topics and presenters, click here to visit the event site.
If you’ve already registered for the BLC, fabulous. If you haven’t, what are you waiting for?
